Paint.Relax.Repeat. is my motto. It is my happy place, what keeps me sane in a sometimes crazy world. Now, that’s not to say it’s the very thing that drives me crazy too. But for the most part, painting is my way of leaving this world for another albeit a short hour and a half or so. I look forward to going out on a painting excursion or even going to my in-home studio area to paint. To me there is great reward in really looking at say an oak tree, trying to match the colors of the trunk and leaves in the sunlight and shadows. Afterwards I can sit back and study the painting I’ve just done and really relax and look at it for another hour. ( if the world doesn’t come calling :))
I also can relax going online and searching through the painting/artist images and blogs/websites. I like to shop around for art supplies too when the budget allows. Getting new canvases or paints or brushes or what have you is good stress reliever. Actually writing these blogs and posting my paintings is a lot of fun for me.
Paint.Relax.Repeat. you should try it. Go easy on yourself. Enjoy the moment while you are painting. If the painting comes out good wonderful. If not, do another one tomorrow. The point is, put paint on your brush, put your brush on the canvas and let the spirit move you.
